Job Title: Service Engineer
Location: Uckfield

Based in Uckfield this organisation is an award winning company that manufactures and distributes scientific instruments all over the world.
The company is looking for a Service Engineer to join their team in Uckfield. You will be required to deliver In-house servicing and repair of the company’s products and the provision of technical support to customers via email and telephone.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- In house servicing and repair of the company’s electrophysiology and microscopy products in a timely manner to meet customer expectations.
- Functional and performance testing of returned and repaired products.
- Occasional on-site service support and maintenance of products, mainly in the UK.
- Regular travel to the company’s manufacturing facility to provide service support to manufacturing and for product updates.
- Providing technical support to customers and distributors via email and telephone on the company’s product range.
- Maintenance and updating of service records.
- Preparation of service reports following in house or on site work.
- Compliance with all internal quality and Health and Safety procedures
- Any reasonable task requested by the company.
Essential Skills and Attributes:
- Demonstrable experience in an electro-mechanical instrument test or service environment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical engineering drawings.
- Experience of mechanical and electrical/electronic fault finding.
- Ability to assemble precision electro-mechanical and optical components.
- Ability to solder, crimp and sleeve electrical components and cables.
- Flexible and self-motivated approach with an ability to work to a high standard with minimal direction.
- Must be comfortable with working away from the factory.
- Must be at ease working with senior academics and scientists and able to handle moderate time pressures.
- Full clean UK or EU driving licence.
- Current UK or EU passport
