Commercial Lawyer
As our business continues to grow from strength to strength, we are looking for a corporate/commercial lawyer with both contentious and non-contentious experience to join our small but dynamic legal team. You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, in-house legal advice, providing legal opinions, manage compliances, intellectual property matters, litigation etc. You will be based at Tata Technologies European Headquarters in Coventry.
Key Responsibilities:
-Leading and supporting all legal aspects for negotiating on a wide variety of contractual and commercial matters, including drafting, strategy, risk and mitigation analysis, and internal reviews, in particular outsourcing contracts (vendor and customer);
-Prepare and give training to the business teams and update legal precedents;
-Respond with a sense of urgency to questions and problems escalated to the Legal Team;
-Educate company executives in regard to legal and risk management issues;
-Develop and review internal guidelines, policies and processes on various legal and business issues;
-Develop subject matter expertise in one of more areas that benefit Legal and/or our business;
-Support, promote and implement Legal Team global initiatives;
-Provide legal advice on regulatory matters (eg Data Protection, Export Control, Supplier Management) striving to protect the company's legal interests in accordance with corporate policies;
-Assist in managing the contracting process ensuring compliance with contract specifications and resolution of any problems or issues.
-Keep up to date on changes in corporate law.
-Management of Legal MIS and other reports
-Knowledge of litigation management and employment tribunals
-Coordinate and work within the global Legal Team
-You will be expected to demonstrate an ability to manage your own workload but work effectively and efficiently with other members of the globally dispersed Legal Team.
-Strong communication skills are therefore essential.
Key Relationships:
-You will be on site legal counsel, and therefore being able to interact with a multi-national legal team.
-Sales, HR and Marketing.
Candidate Profile
-The candidate will be a UK qualified lawyer with PQE experience in contract and commercial law, preferably in-house within the outsourcing industry but suitable candidates with strong relevant legal skills from either an in-house background or a private practice background will be considered;
-Strong communication and negotiation skills and experience in dealing with internal and external customers and suppliers;
-Ability to work under pressure and prioritise heavy and variable workload;

-Proactive and hands-on approach;

-Ability to work as part of a global team;
