Maintenance Engineer - London Transfer Stations and MRF
Our client, who are a waste and recycling specialist in the Wandsworth area of London, have expanded rapidly to become one of the UK's leading waste management companies. Our client is now looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer (Technician) to ensure optimisation of their London Transfer Stations and Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) operation to carry out planned preventative maintenance programmes, repairs, modifications and other engineering aspects of the main London Transfer Stations.
Key Role Elements:
• Completing the planned preventative maintenance programmes (PPM) for the contract in a timely manner and to a high standard.
• Providing pro-active control of the process equipment to ensure optimisation of
• Adjusting and installing alternative component parts and functions within the process equipment, to adapt and enhance the process equipment and ensuring timely replacement/adjustment to avoid potential interruption or reduced efficiency due to malfunction or wear.
• To attend breakdowns and provide technical support
• Assisting the Supervisor/Manager to ensure stores are maintained and stores database is up to date
• Assisting with the implementation of the Integrated Management System (IMS), which require engineering support.
• Assisting the Supervisor/Manager with Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Permits to work to ensure Safe systems of work
The Person:
The individual we are looking for will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:
• Technically qualified with proven experience in a similar environment
• Good Computer Skills (Microsoft Office programmes)
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
• Experience of working with heavy mobile plant
• Flexible and able to work well and quickly under pressure
• High level of attention to detail
• Team Player with excellent communication and problem solving skills
• Is able to work extra hours or attend job related training including weekends
• Holds a Full, Valid UK Driving Licence
