IT system and security administrator required for a Solutions business in Exeter. Applicants will Ideally be well educated with a computer/technical based degree as well as being a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MSCE).
This role will report directly to the Head of IT and will assist in the day to day running of all aspects of business IT needs. This role requires someone with a clear and demonstrable knowledge of networking, AD, Exchange, user administration, rights management and security policy implementation.
Daily duties will include:
- Support all office internal infrastructure hardware and software including servers, peripherals and wiring
- Maintain daily performance of all office hardware
- Responsible for initial PC Setup (Hardware Setup, User Installs, Drive mapping, Software Installs, AV Install).
- Responsible for miscellaneous Hardware Installs (Mouse, Keyboard, Printers, Scanners).
- New Profile installations (Outlook, Printers, Common Software/Desktop)
- Software installations.
- Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.
- Responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, or software.
- Respond to queries, run diagnostic programs, isolate problem, and determine and implement solutions.
- Establish and control system access and security against the company ISMS
- Supervise the development, maintenance, and security of computer and information network systems. Install new networks and systems as required by a growing company.
- Identify and implement new technologies to enhance the long-term operational and strategic goals of the company.
- Work on major IT projects, IT budgets, standard procedures, and overall IT performance.
- Maintain network hardware and software, including servers, peripherals, terminals and wiring.
- Exchange user/group maintenance (Active Directory/Exchange).
- Manages computer operation scheduling, backup storage and retrieval functions.
- Responsible for System Disaster Recovery.
- Manages firewall rules / policy controls
Applicants should have at least 2 to 4 years’ experience required in a computer related field, coupled with excellent customer service skills and strong communication skills; both written and verbal, as well as being skilled with Windows 2008/r2 Server.
