An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proven Business Intelligence/ MI Developer to join an innovative, expanding Financial Services Organisation.

Our client is looking for an experienced BI/MI Developer to join their Business Intelligence team, with SAS / Base SAS programming skills, a background in designing, developing and automating Business Intelligence reporting, with an understanding of ETL / ETL processes.

Senior BI/MI Developer - The Role of BI/MI Developer:

• Responsible for analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment of SAS solutions for the Business Intelligence team on behalf of the wider business.

• To produce ad-hoc reporting for the business to support the operational, regulatory and credit control needs.

• Work closely with the business to clarify and document requirements to develop high quality BI reporting through an iterative development methodology.

• Design, develop and maintain SAS data extraction and manipulation routines, ensuring code efficiencies are in place through the use of macros and code integration.

• Implement a rigorous testing methodology to validate data accuracy, completeness, and quality.

• Ensure their data model is fit for purpose, efficient, accurate and robust avoiding duplication where possible.

• Work with IT to identify opportunities to improve efficiency through process and ETL automation.

• Ensure all work is documented, adheres to standards, is robustly tested and is delivered to agreed business timescales.

• Responsible for maintaining system documentation including technical specification and data dictionaries, ensuring that all are up to date.

• Set stakeholder expectations and maintain ongoing engagement with key stakeholders through regular progress updates.

• Act as a subject matter expert, providing technical knowledge as required in support of wider business projects and initiatives.

Senior BI/MI Developer - Experience, Knowledge, Skills Required:

• SAS programming skills (BASE/MACRO)  with a  good knowledge of ETL processes

• SQL skills.

• Proven experience of working with large data sets / data management.

• Good computer literacy, including MS Office (particularly Excel and VBA)

• Experience in analytic and predictive models would be advantageous

• Strong analytic and trouble shooting skills 

• Data presentation skills

• Experience in business intelligence / MI projects

• Excellent stakeholder management skills

• Experience within the Financial Sector
