Senior Computer Repair Engineer

The Role:

• Providing a repair to component level across a specific and/or wide range of equipment and servers
• Logging the work completed on the Company’s system
• Help coach and develop other colleagues, by mentoring and through on the job and in house training programmes
• Act as a “go to” person for the team, becoming the main point of expertise for core team products.
• Able to formulate repair capabilities and strategy, and review and recommend constant improvements in productivity, quality and cost saving for the repair centre
• Provide team leadership cover when necessary and requested
• Undertake problem solving activities and projects
• Investigate fault trends, document fixes, test procedures and customer specific issues
• Plan the introduction of new products to the repair centre, build and design test rigs where appropriate,
• Act as QC for the department and feedback to the repair centre management team

What the company is looking for in the successful candidate:

• Pc/network technology – experience of pc hardware, servers, routers
• Knowledge of other products such as PEDs, printers and VDUs etc.
• Ability to coach and develop others
• In depth knowledge of diagnostic software, and OS and MS office
• Effective written, communication and presentational skills
• HNC/HND or equivalent qualification and experience of working in a repair or manufacturing centre (or extensive/significant experience in core products if without formal qualifications)
