About the Insurance Administrator role:
You will work alongside the existing Client Support Specialists to provide assistance to the team of Financial Advisers. You will also work closely with customers and with insurers. The business is currently focused on income protection insurance, life insurance, critical illness – and other protection products.
A key part of the role will be processing applications. This typically begins with a telephone interview in which you will ask customers the questions on the insurer’s application form. You will be asking customers to disclose medical information which can be complex and sensitive, so it is essential that you have a professional telephone manner. Equally important is a high attention to detail, as the process involves the need for accuracy of information. You will need to be able to organise your workload, especially at busy times when you will have to ‘keep many plates spinning’ whilst working under some pressure.
Another key part of the role is compliance, as all business is subject to strict industry regulations. We carry out compliance checks prior to submitting applications and also document in our systems exactly how each sale meets the relevant compliance standards. To do this requires a great level of attention to detail along with an understanding of the products we sell. Full training is provided.
Insurance Administrator Required Skills:
You will use standard office software, such as Word, Outlook and Excel, as well as in-house systems, so you will need to be computer literate.
Previous experience of relevant insurance products would be ideal but not essential. Experience of working in financial services is preferred, especially where this has involved working in a regulated environment.
You may have worked in the following capacities:
Client Support Administrator, Client Services Executive, Financial Services Customer Service Executive.
