Archivist (Legal Document Management)
Leeds
Salary £9,500 - £10,000 p.a. depending on experience
Part Time, 20 hours per week 10am-2pm Monday – Friday
3 Month Fixed Term Contract
Requirements
• Educated to GCSE or equivalent, including Maths and English.
• A good understanding of data bases.
• Relevant experience of working in a Facilities Department and Archives within a similar professional services environment preferred.
• Experienced in a customer service/partnering environment; highly customer-focused.
The Role
As an Archivist you will be responsible for the cataloguing, storing and retrieval of all material required by the company per the recommendations of the Law Society’s and other governing bodies. Your responsibilities will include:
• Processing requests for retrieval, distribution and collection of deeds, Old papers and archives including creating requests and numbering, scanning and entering receipted deeds schedules onto DeedsFinder.
• Indexing old papers for archiving.
• Maintaining departmental records including data bases relating to deeds and archives.
• Organising on-site Deeds storage areas and maintaining in good order.
• Ensuring items sent for storage are labelled accurately.
• Checking details in archive boxes are correct.
• Liaising with storage suppliers.
• Ensuring all retrievals are carried out accurately.
• Working to the Firm's destruction policy.
• Ordering business cards, maintaining card database and master sample file.
The Person
You must have excellent keyboard and PC skills, familiar with data entry and PC-based department systems. You must also be able to work well as part of a team and unsupervised as well as work well under pressure retaining good attention to detail and an understanding of privacy and confidentiality.
