School Liaison Advisors (Student Engagement, Advice, Guidance) BLUS17828

Manchester

Salary £19,644 to £25,200

As one of the largest and most successful further education colleges in Europe, our client provides education and training to a wide range of learners and clients across the City of Manchester and beyond. The mission of the college is to deliver a high quality, inclusive and comprehensive curriculum, in an accessible and flexible way.

As they rapidly approach 2015, they are undergoing some exciting developments which will see them expanding not only their teams but also their expertise, to further enhance their reputation as one of the most successful FE colleges in Europe.  You could be at the heart of this, as a number of opportunities have now arisen across the College for innovative and forward thinking individuals to join us and take us into the New Year and beyond.

The School Liaison Advisor will work with local schools, academies and sixth forms within Greater Manchester and beyond to raise awareness and the profile of the College to increase student recruitment. You will ultimately promote the message that our client is a key provider of 14-19, Apprenticeship and HE course provision.

You will need to be a proactive team player who can target school and sixth form students, either individuals or as a group, to promote the College as their preferred  6th Form or Higher Education study location. By pursuing activities such as telemarketing, visiting schools and events and also by establishing relationships and contacts within education. You’ll need to keep abreast of the current work market and course trends to effectively provide an impartial careers guidance service to students so they know all of their options available when they leave school.

They have opportunities for organised, flexible School Liaison Advisors who hold a level 4 qualification in Marketing, Business or IAG. If you don’t have a level 4 qualification, you must have previous, relevant work experience gained within an educational, customer, sales or business focused environment and be willing to work towards a suitable qualification on appointment. You must be able to deal sensitively and empathetically with stakeholders from a range of cultural and ethnic backgrounds, including those who don’t have English as a first language.

Due to the nature of the role, you must have access to a vehicle, a valid driving license and the flexibility to work evenings throughout the year.

Closing date for applications: Friday 2nd January 2014.

Our client is an equal opportunities employer welcoming applications from all sections of the community.

All applicants must demonstrate in their application their ability to meet the Key Responsibilities, Key Result Areas and Qualifications/Skills/Experience detailed within the role profile for shortlisting purposes.
