As this is an apprenticeship program, candidates must be between the ages of 19-24.

As one of the UK’s leading specialist manufacturers,  our client’s small team has an opportunity for an apprentice CNC programmer to work with our CAD/CAM and production teams – creating programs for 5 axis CNC milling machines at the forefront of woodworking technology.

The candidate will help to produce bespoke handrails and other items for some of the most prestigious construction projects in the UK – the role will be 70% PC based, programming with our Cam software, understanding various manufacturing methods, tooling etc. and as such must have proven excellent computer skills.

The role will be 30% on the shop floor – understanding the CNC machines, how they work, properties of various hardwoods, tooling, creating jigs for manufacture etc.

Once complete, we would hope to offer the apprentice a full time permanent position with the team.

The candidate must have:

  • GCSEs, including minimum Cs in Maths English and Science
  • Some working experience, preferably in manufacturing environment
  • Genuine interest in Engineering
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills

Salary - £4 per hour with reviews

Location - Bolton

This 12 month apprenticeship program is designed to fast-track the development & knowledge of a junior engineer interested in advanced timber manufacturing.
