The Job:
Our client in the heart of Caerphilly are looking for a Year 1`Welsh teacher to start in the new year from January until February half term (2015) at least. You should have experience of working within a Welsh Primary and have the interpersonal skills needed to effectively communicate with staff and students. The class is made up of 26 children, and has 2 teaching assistants to support you. The role is full time, Monday to Friday, and the school day runs from 8:30am - 3:30pm. Planning, preparation and also marking will also be required. Knowledge and experience of delivering the Welsh curriculum is an absolute must. The pay will be ?100 per day, with the possibility of also being payrolled through one of our umbrella companies so you can off set your expenses and travel costs.
The School:
This Welsh Primary School is based in the heart of the town centre and currently has 210 children enrolled for September. This school uses Randstad Education solely for supply, and so when the contract is up, there are plentiful opportunities for you to remain on day to day supply and even to pick up another long term vacancy or permanent role. There are car parking facilities here should you wish to drive, and is also easily accessible by train or bus. The school have a strong supportive staff structure, and are always happy to help and give guidance should you need it.
The Child:
The school has a wide catchment area, encompassing pupils from a variety of backgrounds and with varying levels of difficulties and ability. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of differentiation within the classroom, and also an emphasis on behaviour management and inclusive learning. They will also have a strong passion and enthusiasm for education especially through Welsh language medium, and have a real drive to motivate pupils through Welsh in their learning. The role is to cover a Year 1 class, and there are some children within the class with additional learning needs, who do have one to one learning support assistant support.
