Junior Product Validation EngineerSouth Yorkshire
c£22k-£24k (neg dep exp)
Our client is globally renowned as a market leader in the supply of extruded solutions. Their automotive components division are now seeking to recruit a Junior Product Validation Engineer.
Qualified to at least HND level or above in a relevant engineering discipline, the successful candidate will be tasked with supporting the development of new products and undertaking problem resolution (allied to both production and NPI systems), and engineering change activities through dimensional verification/measurement of components, assemblies, gauges and tooling.
You will define measurement reference systems (datum system) in consultation with the product development team and select appropriate measurement points, creating measurement plans and CMM programs based on engineering drawings, CAD models and input from other Engineering personnel. Additionally you will develop measurement fixtures for flexible components and assemblies and measure components, assemblies, gauges and tooling using prepared CMM measurement programmes or other measurement tools where appropriate/available, including shadowgraph, callipers and laser scanners, so previous experience of working with this equipment will prove distinctly advantageous.
You will be responsible for providing clear and accurate graphical and numerical reports that enable other engineers to efficiently interpret and analyse the measurement results, and will specify measurement gauges for new project introduction. You will also be responsible for the preparation of statistical analysis of measurement data including calculation of Pp, Ppk, Cp, Cpk and MSA values, whilst providing measurement reports in customer-specified formats and providing CMM measurement support to the Quality Department for investigation of production quality concerns.
Additionally you will undertake calibration system/layout audits with part measurement and verification of gauges and other calibrated equipment and the associated organisation and planning of validation testing for development parts, working closely with external test facilities, and both collating and presenting test results to the engineering team.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a suitably motivated and enthusiastic Junior Engineer to progress their career within a stable and professional environment committed to the highest standards of engineering excellence and customer satisfaction, and if you believe you possess the relevant skills and experience and wish to be considered, contact the Graduate Team at Premier Technical Recruitment on 01827 68400 or email your cv to graduate@p-t-r.co.uk for further details.
