About Our Client:
Our client provides support for people with learning disabilities, those who experience Autism and people with complex behaviours. As a Support Worker your role is to support people to live independently and help them to achieve their goals.
This includes shopping, cooking, managing their own homes, managing finances and enabling people to be safe. You will support people to find and experience activities enabling them to have a sense of worth and a meaningful life.
About The Role:
They support a lady who is living in an assessment unit whilst looking for her own permanent home.
She loves music and going out in her own car and needs confident and committed staff who are willing to move with her and continue to support her to build a full and active life.
About You:
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate that you are a good listener who is able to set and maintain clear boundaries. You will need to be able to drive and be able to motivate and be consistent in the way you provide support.
This role involves personal care. You will need to be very confident in lone working situations.
An understanding of autism and complex behaviours would be an advantage. Support work offers you a chance to make a genuine difference to people’s lives and no day will be the same!
They Value People:
All their Support Workers receive a very detailed induction and training and complete shadow shifts before working with the people they support. New staff who have not previously worked in care are supported through the nationally recognised Skills for Care Common Induction Standards.
Your training is specifically tailored to enable you to support the people you work with. When attending training courses you are paid your normal hourly rate of pay.
When they need you:
Shift patterns are very person centred in this service and because the lady finds changeovers of staff difficult her staff team work long days of up to 12 hours. Rota’s are dependent on your contracted hours.
This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check which will be provided by them.
Our client is an equal opportunities employer that promotes diversity within their workforce and welcome applications from all sections of the community, regardless of sexual orientation, race, age, gender, disability, religion or belief.
