An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proven Credit Risk Analyst to join an innovative, expanding Financial Services Organisation.

Our client is looking for an experienced Credit Risk Analyst to join their Business Intelligence team, who will have great analytical skills & experience of performing trend, insight or portfolio analysis within a financial services environment.

The role of Credit Risk Analyst:

• Support the production & analysis of credit risk metrics & support the maintenance of credit risk policies.
• Lead the development & delivery of industry leading Credit Risk models & scorecards to support lending decision-making.
• Be able to understand complicated analytics methodologies & scorecard development.
• Interrogate & analyse large databases to produce information that can be clearly understood, utilising this to make recommendations to the business.
• Performing analysis on data gathered from Credit Reference Agencies and other sources to design and develop innovative approaches to the credit approval process.
• Refine the current decision engine to ensure it is able to optimise credit decision-making.
• Test & challenge new strategies / products.
• Provide recommendations & proposals to implement improvements to business performance.
• Identifying credit risk issues through ad-hoc analysis of data.
• Process and respond to enquiries from the operational teams on behalf of their customers, performing account & credit policy reviews to provide clear credit application decisions.
• Create MI and credit risk strategy information & regular reporting.
• Developing models of financial patterns and systems to try and predict future performance trends.
• Responsible for delivery of Credit Reference Agency reporting, including a full initial review.
• Provide support and help to develop less experienced team members.

Experience and Skills Required:

• Experience gained within a similar Credit Risk Role is required
• Excellent analytical & numeric skills (Maths or similar degree desirable)
• Excel - Advanced Level and experience of using VBA / SQL to develop analysis & reporting solutions
• Experience of SAS Base & SAS Macro (desirable)
• Experience utilising SAS in an analytical role (desirable)
• Knowledge of Credit Reference Agency reporting (desirable)
• Excellent communication & time management skills.
