The Job:

Our client in Roath (Cardiff) are currently looking for a Year 4 teacher to assist in day to day bookings from now, until the Easter holidays (2015). It will be full time to start off with, covering a staff absence, but after the Christmas break the particular member of staff should be coming back on a phased return and so the amount of days you will be required each week will decrease per month then leading up towards Easter. The school day runs from 8:45-3pm, and planning and preparation will be expected, and also outside of hours tasks like marking etc.

The School:

This school believes that all pupils should enjoy school life. It is their intention to create a very happy 'family school' where there is a sense of purpose and well-being, a place where children and adults are glad to be. Good behaviour is looked for, acknowledged and rewarded, and their intention is to develop a positive attitude to learning by consistently focusing on the child's strengths and achievements.

The Child:

The school has a wide catchment area, encompassing pupils from a variety of backgrounds and with varying levels of difficulties and ability. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of differentiation within the classroom, and also an emphasis on behaviour management and inclusive learning. They will also have a strong passion and enthusiasm for education and have a real drive to motivate pupils through their learning. The Year 4 class does not have any children with specialist educational needs, but there are some pupils who require extra time and support due to dyslexia.
