Sales Manager/Recruitment Manager:

The Sales Manager/Business Unit Leader position within Quanta is one that offers exciting, varied and extremely satisfying challenges. Based In Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, Quanta specialises in three main industries: Life Sciences, Energies and Semi-conductors.

The Sales Manager/Business Unit Leader position:

Working within the Life Sciences team the Business Unit Leader must be able to initiate and implement change within their group in a sensitive and supportive manner, adapting to the teams individual needs in order to gain people's commitment and enthusiasm for the change. The fundamental purpose of this senior management role is to improve efficiency, productivity and net profit levels through the effective management and control of all available resources.

Principle tasks and responsibilities
. Management of daily Business Unit operations, currently a team of Sales Consultants, ensuring personal involvement in sales activity
. Build and implement detailed and effective plans to achieve sales, financial and budgetary objectives, incorporating accurate performance monitoring with regular reports and forecasts as required.
. Identify business objectives and critical success factors to support supervision and management of daily sales and administrative activity.
. Agree individual objectives with direct reports setting clear review schedules and performance guidelines. Maintaining regular monitoring of these objectives between the reporting periods.
. Identify key training requirements and in conjunction with the Quanta Staff Development Coaches, provide knowledge and guidance to achieve required competency levels. Undertake regular appraisal and one-to-one reviews with direct reports.
. Join your respective team members on site visits (UK and abroad). Assist in preparation, delivery and follow up activities.
. Monitor and evaluate service levels to clients and contractors, refine customer service and improve overall standards of supply and after sales support.
. Continue to spearhead sales operations by introducing existing and new services to clients within appropriate geographical boundaries.
. Provide an environment where open and honest communication is encouraged.
. Develop marketing strategies that encompass scope of operation within level of available resource.
. Continue to develop a success culture based on agreed objectives, personal responsibility and collective commitment to customer satisfaction.
. Compliance with all legal and contractual requirements within country of operation.
. Quality control of in-house procedures used by the Business Unit.
. Maintain optimum staff levels through effective recruitment and communication.
. To represent the company, adopting the highest possible standards of professionalism at all times.

Essential Skills and Experience:
. The successful Business Unit Leader will be able to demonstrate his/her experience in managing a small team of sales consultants/business winners with an adaptable management style appropriate to manage a multicultural team and individuals expectations in order to implement change.
. All industry backgrounds will be considered, but must have a business development focus.
. This role will involve travel both within the UK and abroad.

Nice to Have:
. Management and implementation of staff training and development
. Experience writing business plans and forecasts with explanation and justification
. Language skills, especially German, Dutch and/or Danish, would be a significant advantage.
