They now have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Manager to join them where you will be based in Leeds and will assist the Operations Manager in achieving service excellence to the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The position is based mainly at LGI but occasional visits to St James Hospital are required – a free shuttle service is provided.

Within the role of the Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that a high but cost effective standard of service is provided and maintained whilst managing and supervising the training of all staff. Reacting swiftly and conclusively to customer complaints, queries and requests, you will ensure that all personnel procedures are adhered to and that training records are maintained for all staff. Meeting with the Trust management when required and meeting all key objectives set by the Operations Manager, you will liaise with the wards and department staff whilst assisting in the distribution and collection of linen.

Ensuring that adequate staffing cover is provided, you will be required to complete random quality checks on linen, spot checks on stock levels and housekeeping as well as deputising to the Operations Manager when required. In order to accommodate the requirements of the business and its operations, you will need to vary staff shift patterns and have the ability to work flexibly.

They are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills and has the ability to instruct and motivate staff. With previous experience as a leader within the service industry, you will have a high level of numeracy and literacy along with a clear understanding of the service provisions provided to the Trust. Having previous knowledge of controlling stock and equipment, you will be highly organised and have a good attention to detail.
