MIS ManagerNorthamptonc£50k+ package + benefits
Our client is recognized as one of the UK's market leaders in the area of automated materials handling solutions, and as a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, a new position of MIS Manager has been created to complement their established and efficient team.
Reporting to the Finance Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the MIS function within the company in order to deliver and maintain consistent, appropriate business systems that sustain the current business model and support future success.
You will be tasked with all aspects of Team Management, including budgetary control and overall responsibility for the MIS Process, as well as the management of MIS suppliers to constantly and consistently deliver appropriate value to the organisation (undertaking Supplier selection and negotiation in conjunction with the Purchasing department when appropriate). Additionally you will give extensive input into all aspects of information management within the company including the development and maintenance of a rolling 3 year plan for IT, exploiting emerging technologies to deliver benefits to the organisation (reduce costs, increase productivity etc) as well as retaining overall management of all IT hardware ensuring a reasonable upgrade / replacement program is in place and the control process for additions and removals of all assets is maintained.
You will manage all aspects of MIS security including data back-ups, network access, mail, internet, VPN and access from client sites and provide user training in Microsoft Office and other business systems whilst maintaining oversight of both ERP and Cognos systems and providing support to fellow team members in delivering technical solutions and solving problems. With direct line management responsibility of a small team and an annual budget of c£150k, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic MIS Manager to assume responsibility of an efficient and friendly team within a market leading organisation.
To be considered for this varied and challenging role, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will demonstrate exemplary communication skills at all levels and the ability to both manage and motivate those around them, with impressive organisational and prioritising abilities and a methodical approach to problem solving with high levels of attention to detail. Potentially MCP and MCSE qualified, you will be a confident presenter to internal and external customers with a deep and broad understanding of IT.
Essentially you will be an expert in Windows based operating systems (and highly proficient on UNIX based OS) with the ability to set up and manage virtual machines for all operating systems within the company proving distinctly advantageous. It is envisaged that you will be degree qualified in an IT related subject and possess a full clean UK driving licence, as occasional visits to client sites may be required.
