Behaviour Support Worker

Immediate start - ongoing


This role is to support teaching staff with pastoral and behavioural management.

Support for 11-16 Learners

* To support and assist 14-16 learners in managing their behavior and in achieving their social and behavioral targets both in and outside the classroom.
* To assist individual 14-16 learners experiencing difficulties in managing their behavior by supporting them outside the classroom/ social group.
* To assist 14-16 learners back in to the classroom/social group when they have regained management of their behavior.
* To provide supervision for a group of 14-16 learners during breaks and lunchtimes ensuring learners are safeguarded appropriately.
* To set a good example to 14-16 learners through own presentation and personal and professional conduct.

Support for Teachers

* To support teachers with the behavioral management of groups and individuals within the whole class setting, so that teaching objectives are met and best use is made of teaching time.
* To support teachers in establishing and maintaining a purposeful working at morpheme and setting high expectations for 14-16 learners behavior.
* Under the direction of the teacher, to set clear targets for social and behavioral achievement to individuals and group of 14-16 learners.
* To contribute to developing and implementing of policy and good practice for pastoral and behavioral support which reflects the school's commitment to high achieving and effective teaching and learning.


The successful candidate will:-

* Have experience of working with children with additional needs

* Have good English and Maths skills

* Be dedicated to supporting vulnerable pupils' learning

* Be able to support the development of pupils' social and emotional skills
