Project Manager - PRINCE2 - Gosport, Hampshire - Security Cleared

Role Description:

Opportunity for Project Manager, at Junior level is required to join the DBS Account to work on a number of varied and very interesting key business projects.

The Project Manager will be expected to take responsibility for specific projects/tasks under the direction and guidance of either a Senior Project Manager or directly from the assigned Programme Manager. The Project Manager will take full responsibility for assigned projects depending on skills and experience. The Project Manager will work closely with the Business Lead on the client side and with key areas/delivery teams, such as Business Analysts, Technical Architects, development/test teams, implementation teams etc. to deliver high quality solutions that meet client requirements.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Respond to customer raised Requests for Change (RFCs) and work closely with the client to agree requirements and the internal/CSC appropriate technical and business teams to define solutions and estimates
  2. Produce project definition documentation as required and initiate project delivery
  3. Deliver assigned projects to time, quality and budget
  4. Produce appropriate project documentation as part of project delivery
  5. Work closely with all stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient delivery of assigned projects
  6. Facilitate project reviews to coincide with standard and agreed milestones, including project kick off, delivery, final acceptance and project closure/handover to client and internal support teams
  7. Define the deliverables, resource requirements and work plan for the project, and manage their development and delivery
  8. Provide regular project status reports as required
  9. Review performance of the project against baseline as part of closedown activities and report findings for process improvement
  10. Contribute to process improvement opportunities

Skills and experience required:

  • Good Communication and planning skills
  • Involvement with successful project implementation, ideally in a software or infrastructure environment for experienced Project Managers
  • Demonstration of excellent customer facing skills
  • Experience of end to end project life cycle
  • Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Ideally Project Management qualification/accreditation but not essential
  • Project planning and use of MS Project to plan and track project progress, significant experience of MS Project is expected of experienced Project Managers
  • Specific experience: - for experienced Project Managers
  • Infrastructure and/or Applications delivery project management
  • IT Security experience, particularly within an MoD/Government environment
