Science Teacher General

A smaller than average Academy located in Gloucester is seeking to appoint a Teacher of Science from January 2015. This is temporary post with the possibility of becoming permanent.

This is an inclusive Academy that provide extensive learning opportunities beyond the classroom. The academy are committed to provide an innovative and engaging curriculum that inspires all students to fulfill their potential. Students have a real sense of community and they value the school's care for their well being. The school has 590 pupils of mixed gender aged 11-19 on its teaching roll with 108 of these pupils in Sixth form. Ofsted rated this academy a Grade 3 in its most recent inspection and the report states that senior leaders have taken a number of steps to ensure that achievement improves by focusing on improving the quality of teaching.

There are a wide range of extra-curricular activities on offer in the school which include computer club, arts and various sports clubs. These are believed to enhance the students' spiritual, moral, social and cultural development, along with their lessons.

Central Gloucester can be reached in less than forty-five minutes and offers a wealth of culture and history to be explored. The area surrounding the school is well-serviced by buses and there are 2 main train stations within 4 miles of the school's location.
