A champion of outstanding service in Information & Technology, you'll work closely with customers of our truly unique business to ensure we meet their very particular needs. At the Rural Payments Agency, there's a lot more going on than you might realise. We pay farmers, traders and land owners over GBP2 billion each year to support a thriving farming and food sector. We also manage over 40 schemes to help ensure our rural economy and communities are healthy and strong. From carrying out thousands of inspections and checks to managing milk quotas and cattle tracing, we're one of the few places in the country where you can get involved in work like this. You'll be the key link between our Information & Technology directorate and its customer base. Forging mutually supportive relationships, you'll be instrumental to the achievement of business goals. Developing a deep understanding of customer businesses and their needs, you'll agree service levels and facilitate user groups for key applications and services. You'll present performance reports and, if necessary, resolve issues and drive improvements. Supplier management will be a major focus. You'll provide advice and guidance on requirements and processes, across a range of projects. We'll also look to you to assess the impact on services of requests for change, and attend a number of Boards to consider their approval. To thrive here, you'll need to be able to deputise for Service Managers in important ways - from managing relationships with suppliers, to publishing information relating to their performance and leading review meetings for major contracts. For this reason, we'll expect you to get well acquainted with our KPIs and contractual obligations for suppliers. Ideally, you'll also bring to the role demonstrable knowledge of ITIL Service Management. In return for your dedication, you'll enjoy lots of opportunities to train and develop. You'll also be in line for some great civil service benefits, including a pension. To visit our website and apply for this role please click the APPLY button.
