Underwriter

Our clients are a Financial Services company based in Blackpool and are looking to recruit an Underwriter to join their existing team.

The purpose of the role will be to professionally assess all cases from direct customers and brokers in order to make informed underwriting decisions that are in line with company policies, procedures and lending.

Key responsibilities:

To accurately assess the risk on an application ensuring that the loan is affordable, plausible and sustainable with an underwriting rationale applied each case prior to funding.

To pro-actively manage a pipeline of cases

To provide brokers and customers with accurate updates at all points in the process.

The successful candidate will be customer focused, and be able to demonstrate that customers are at the forefront of all decisions (both internal and external), and communicate information to them in a way which is clear, fair and not misleading.

You will have a minimum of 5 GCSEs or minimum 3 in Basic Skills testing in numeracy, literacy and ICT, proof of 5 years residency, proof of five years employment history, verifiable identification and an acceptable credit search.
