This role is to safely and effectively maintain designated specialist and associated areas and equipment under direction of the Specialist Coordinator.
Job Purpose:
- To safely and effectively maintain designated specialist and associated areas and equipment under the direction of the Specialist Coordinator
- To provide high quality learning and technical support to learners within specialist and general areas
- To provide high quality work experience/ work related opportunities and/or supervision as necessary
- To manage resources, commercial bookings, area budgets or other activity for the benefit of the financial stability and growth of the area.
- To ensure compliance with any relevant occupational standards
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of the specialist area and associated areas as specified by the Specialist Coordinator to support a clean, safe and well maintained learning environment for learners
- Care and routine maintenance of the designated area and all associated, specialist equipment
- Supporting and developing students' skills within practical sessions or at external venues
- Planning and supervising learners' work experience/work related activities and completing any required documentation to evidence this activity, as directed by the Specialist Coordinator.
- Maintaining and ordering resources relevant to the care of the designated area.
- Advising the Specialist Coordinator of problems associated with the area including repairs and renewals
- Ensure the use of safe working practices within the terms of the Health & Safety at Work Act
- Contribute to the practical assessment of learners within the area as required and under the direction of the Specialist Coordinator or Programme leader
- To provide high quality client service to and professional communication with all users within the area.
