Overview

This well established engineering business are looking to add to their team in response to business growth. They are a dynamic company and you will be part of a small but diverse team, who are committed to high engineering standards and enjoyment of our work. This is an opportunity to be immediately involved in key projects and to contribute to long term company development.

Projects will range in size and duration from 4 weeks to 6 months and will be predominately for customers in the North East of England though there may be opportunities and requirements to work on-sites around the UK and Europe from time to time.

Main Duties

The Support Technician duties are to support the project manager and in house technicians to ensure quality, lead time and financial objectives are met or exceeded. Engineering projects will be predominately for the subsea and offshore sector and thus require a high level of attention to detail, responsiveness and management of documentation. The scope of the engineering builds may include hydraulic power units, control consoles, bespoke systems and manifolds.

The support technician will be responsible for maintaining communication and documentation control between the on-site hydraulic technicians and internal project management and technical functions, preparing pipe and hose registers, tracking material shortages, compiling document packs (paper and electronic), and assisting with material and equipment preparation.

As part of this role there is an expectation that the support technician will have presence in the workshop and on-site and as workload requires, may be involved in activities such as mechanical assembly, commissioning, hoses manufactures, flushing and pressure testing.
This is a new position within the company and we anticipate it will be a varied and challenging role with positive opportunities for a motivated individual to develop the position to achieve their own career goals.
