An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Assurance Lead based in Worcester to join a forward thinking, innovative IT company with plans for global expansion. They write web applications within a SCRUM/Agile environment that are used by some of the largest companies in the World and for over the past 10 years, they have created one of the most innovative and technologically advanced brands in the online industry.
Due to their continued success and rapid expansion, they have a new role within their Technical Department for a Quality Assurance Lead who will be responsible for creating an end-to-end test plan; executing the plan and managing all activities in the plan to ensure that all the objectives are met and that the solution works as expected.
As a Quality Assurance Lead your duties will include:
• Reviewing functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of individual deliverables.
• Backend database testing in Microsoft SQL environment including validating stored processes, jobs and triggers.
• Identifying test requirements from specifications, map test case requirements and design test coverage plan.
• Developing, document and maintain functional test cases and other test artifacts like the test data, data validation, harness scripts and automated scripts.
• Executing and evaluating manual or automated test cases and report test results.
• Holding and facilitating test plan/case reviews with cross-functional team members.
• Identifying any potential quality issues per defined process and escalate potential quality issues immediately to management.
• Ensuring that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements.
• Isolating, replicating, and reporting defects and verifying defect fixes.
An ideal Quality Assurance Lead will hold the following skills and experiences:
• Experience in a QA Tester role.
• Good understanding of testing methodologies, test plan organisation, and technical requirements.
• Strong time-management skills with the ability to focus on priorities, manage change and be flexible to changing requests.
• A good understanding of the software development process
• A good understanding of the business approach
• Strong writing skills (for documenting the process)
• Good communications and consultancy skills
• The ability to work in a team and as an individual
• Good presentation skills
• The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• BS or BA degree preferred.
• Relevant QA technical experience preferably with in a SCRUM/Agile environment
• A motivated individual who can work within a pressurised environment
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
• Comfortable working within a small team environment and managing your own workloads.
• You should be delivery focused and understand the need to provide accurate estimates for completion of tasks within a project managed timescale
If you're documenting the tests your typical working hours will be a 9am to 5.30pm day, but if you're running tests then it might be longer. You'll often be working on more than one project at a time, e.g. one product in first phase testing and another in its second or final phase. This means your hours will be determined around the demands of the project rather than set hours.
In return you will receive a salary of£30,000 - £35,000 per annum (dependant on experience) plus private healthcare, a cycle-to-work scheme, regular social events, team building and a company barge for staff use on evenings and weekends.
