Uteach presents an exciting opportunity for a Teacher of Science in an Academy in the metropolitan county of South Yorkshire. This role begins in January 2015 and whilst temporary, it has the possibility of becoming permanent.
The school aims to provide a journey that educates, encourages and inspires young people to achieve and be the best they can be. Teaching is innovative and diverse which ensures that students remain stimulated, engaged and active learners throughout their time at the academy. Ofsted rated the school a Grade 3 in its most recent inspection with the report stating that the headteacher has effectively shared an ambitious vision for taking the school forward with achievement generally rising for all groups of students. Students thrive and mix well which is helped by good care, guidance and support.
There are approximately 1200 pupils of mixed gender aged between 11-16 on the teaching roll. The school offers a wide range of various extra-curricular activities such as drama, dance and sports clubs.
The school has good transport links with the nearest train station within 3 miles and the picturesque Peak District is within a 30 minute drive.
