Role: Faculty Centre Administrator - Performing Arts
Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme, ST5 2GB
Salary: £19,316 - £21,080
Permanent, Full time 37 hours a week
This role would be ideal for you if you are a customer focused individual with a strong interest and experience in the Performing Arts sector. The purpose is to provide a friendly and efficient Performing Arts Centre reception and administration service to members of staff, the general public, students and employers.
The post holder will occupy a crucial position as the initial point of contact for all customers. Duties will include dealing with customer enquiries and bookings, handling cash, operating the telephone placing outgoing calls and redirecting incoming calls, administrative support to the Performing Arts Manager, organising large complex events, maintaining filing systems, dealing with invoices and keeping records of budgets. This list is not exhaustive, and the post holder must be willing and flexible.
This position will require the flexibility to work evenings and weekends as and when required.
To be successful, you will have a good standard of general education to GCSE level or equivalent including English & Maths and previous experience of working within a similar environment with a strong emphasis of customer service. You will be computer literate and confident using the common business software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel and other database applications as well as internal College systems e.g. Student Records and Timetabling etc. It is also essential to have a high degree of accuracy in all your work.
You will have good written and verbal communication skills, be able to express yourself clearly and concisely along with negotiation and customer service skills. You will have the ability to build trust and have a good rapport with young people while maintaining professional boundaries along with the confidence and ability to deal appropriately with unacceptable behaviour.
