Dementia Action Alliance Coordinator
Location: Reading - Covering the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire & Oxfordshire locality
Salary: £20,682 actual per annum
Hours: 35 per week
Contract type: Fixed term contract for one year
Our client is the leading support and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers. Dementia affects over 800,000 people in the UK alone and numbers continue to grow.
This will involve working closely with the Operations Manager and the Locality team, identifying opportunities and developing relationships with local business, organisations and statutory services to create local dementia action alliances and to ensure alliances are set up and sustainable once the coordinator post is withdrawn.
Above all, you will use your leadership skills to encourage alliances and individual organisations to produce an action plan and sign up to the National Dementia Declaration and, as an ambassador for the organisation you will work in consultation with people with dementia and their carers to inform and monitor the actions of the alliance
To succeed, you will need excellent marketing and negotiating skills and experience of influencing others from a cross section of the community. Your understanding of the needs of the business community in relation to the part they can play in the establishment of Alliances must be supported by excellent report writing skills and experience of seeking and attaining funding. Add to that your first-class communication skills and your willingness to travel independently to manage or promote our work, and you will quickly make your mark as part of the team.
Our client is committed to equal opportunities.
