Reporting directly to the Head of Project Management, our client requires a project manager to support a Senior Project Manager working on a multi work stream launch project.

The project manager will be responsible for the success of all their work streams and will feed into the overall delivery and cost control plan. Throughout the life cycle of each work stream, the manager will track project status and manage project teams to mitigate issues and risks.

You will define and create project plans for project, portfolio, product prioritisation and implementation. Provide PMO administrative support for the Senior Project Manager in updating logs, plans and key documents. Evaluate trade-offs between project size and complexity, cost, urgency, risk, and stakeholder value. Act as a partner with business sponsors to define success metrics and criteria to build, leads, and coaches multiple project teams throughout project life cycles. Facilitate all operational checkpoint activities throughout the life cycle of projects and assess and resolves all high priority project risks as they are encountered, whilst ensuring all projects adhere to project methodology compliance standards set by the company.

The right candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience of managing projects and the supporting methodologies together with an understanding of software development life cycles (ie Agile, Scrum, waterfall, iterative). Ideally this should be in a financial services or an IT environment. Importantly you will be able to demonstrate exceptional problem solving, organisational, facilitation and leadership skills in your current role. You will be an adept communicator who is comfortable working in an environment with frequent and unpredictable change. You should be experienced in the use of planning and estimating techniques and familiar with project management tools such as MS Project. Ideally you will hold a current PRINCE 2.0 practioner certificate.

There may be some travel between Stockport, Bournemouth and London office locations, often outside normal business hours.
