Rentokil Initial recognises the importance of its ability to delivery outstanding customer service and lead in service innovation. The Science and Service Innovation function was created to play its leading role for the Group in the development of market-leading Pest Control and Hygiene services.
This role of Technical Assistant reports directly to the Group Service & Science General Technical Manager. This is a full time role supporting the RI Divisions of Pest & Hygiene across all operating countries.
Key Tasks and Responsibility:
• Maintaining cultures of pest insects
• Maintaining rodent colonies in compliance with the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986
• Care and maintenance of laboratory equipment and preparation of laboratory consumables
• To participate in projects, including field trials, identified by the Service and Science team
• To perform any other reasonable duties that may arise in performing the job.
• Local travel may be required from time to time. The role will be split approximately 90/10 between office and field. Flexibility to working pattern is essential.
• Full training will be provided, and it is anticipated that there will be room for this role to develop - depending on the aptitude of the candidate.
Skills and Experience Required:
• Education up to GCSE level (or equivalent) in Maths, English and a relevant Science subject
• Full current driving licence
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• The successful candidate must be able to deliver high quality work to tight deadlines
