This is an opportunity to work for A leading Investment Bank supporting one of its most successful and profitable divisions, The Corporate Asset Finance division.

The Macquarie Corporate and Asset Finance business is the leader in its field, providing asset financing for its customers with the support of a number of market leading application, management and payment systems.

The COG Tech Corporate and Asset Finance Team is looking to recruit an experienced Application Support Analyst to work on a variety of systems and technologies.

In addition to exercising technical skills, the successful candidate will gain and apply knowledge of the asset leasing business as well as having the opportunity to work within a global support team.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Acting as point of contact, and escalation where required, for the business on support issues across a number of business-critical applications
  • Prioritising and resolving day-to-day systems issues and client requests in a timely manner, effectively managing client expectations and escalating where appropriate
  • Monitoring of critical applications and management of issues arising from alerts
  • Involvement in a number of projects ranging from infrastructure/software upgrades, to business-driven enhancements
  • Focusing on risk activities such as DR testing and proactive risk mitigation initiatives
  • Testing of changes impacting CAF applications
  • Involvement in application build and deployment activities

Your technical background will include:

  • Strong creative approach to analysis & design and problem solving
  • Experience with Java (JEE5, JEE6, Seam, JSP, RichFaces, JSF, Hibernate, JAX-RS, REST, Soap, Struts, JQuery), JavaScript, VB/VBA and Access applications
  • Experience with SQL Server, Sybase and Oracle databases, working knowledge of Access
  • Unix skills (admin and Scripting)
  • Understanding of application and web Servers (JBoss, Weblogic)
  • Understanding and experience with Reporting technologies (BI, Cognos, Jasper)
  • A good knowledge of how applications and systems fit into wider infrastructure, eg networks, DMZs, Firewalls
  • Experience with monitoring tools an advantage

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Be Degree qualified with 5+ years experience in an IT Support role
  • Possess a strong customer service focus and the ability to provide quality support
  • Be self motivated, have the ability to take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion, and work under minimal supervision where necessary
  • Establish strong relationships with business users and IT teams of all levels
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be familiar with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change) and Service Desk applications
