Out of Hours Network Service Technician - Brixton

What is the purpose of the role?Network Service Technician roles are also required to support Capital Delivery and Operations project work, either on a full or part time basis and to support ongoing leakage delivery activities.What makes this role unique?In this role you will provide excellent customer service to Thames Water customers by undertaking operational tasks, resolving customer issues and carrying out network valve activities out of hours with the least disruption to supplies.What will this role involve?This role will involve: The operation of the mains network out of hours, including controlling burst mains, ensuring isolation of mains to facilitate planned work, emergency repairs and maintenance. Personal ownership of customer issues, responding to queries & complaints, resolving issues. Ensuring water quality compliance during repairs. Acting as local network expert for isolation and rezoning providing information for risk assessments & sharing information regarding network risks and other Health & Safety issues. Being responsible for investigating the clean water network to resolve poor asset performance, including high or low pressure, leakage, metering queries and loss of supply. Working in compliance with Company procedures including Business Operating Plan, Health & Safety and street works legislation.What are we looking for?We are looking for someone with NVQ Level 2 / City & Guilds / GCSE) or equivalent experience. You will have good IT skills as you will be required to communicate via a portable device. The post holder would develop an understanding of key company operating procedures relevant to specific role. This role would require you to have excellent communication skills and basic customer service skills. Due to the nature of the role it requires someone with a valid driving licence and the ability to work out of hours and follow lone working procedures.Thames Water information and salary detailsThis role is based at Brixton Water Treatment Works, South London.
