What is the purpose of the role?With the future of our sites relying more and more on automation its essential that we recruit the best. ICA skills available to maintain the essential service we provide. You will be required to carry out all duties relating to ICA work including fault diagnose, inspect, test and certificate, install, modify or repair as appropriate ICA plant and equipment, in a safe efficient timely and effective manner with minimum supervision.What makes this role unique?This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for an individual to join a dedicated team working at the various Thames Water sites. Your work will directly impact maintenance objectives and the production and capacity of sites performance. The role covers a range of activities from planned preventative maintenance through to defect maintenance both in and out of normal working hours. As well as excellent training and development opportunities, you will be able to progress your career within maintenance teams throughout the Thames Water area. You will be working on sites providing water and waste-water services to almost 25% of the UK population.What will this role involve?Its safe to say these are going to be busy roles maintaining and improving sites within our region. Some of the daily duties include but are not limited to the following:Carrying out ICA planned preventative maintenance in accordance with the maintenance plans for the various sites within the Thames Valley including London.Carrying out defect maintenance including fault diagnosis and repair of electrical equipment.Carrying out limited ICA installation work of plant and equipment, in a safe efficient timely and effective manner with minimum supervision.Reading and understanding electrical drawings, identifying parts and components.Abiding by H&S legislation/Thames Water Safety Regulations and working in accordance with Maintenance ISO 9002 and ISO 14001 accreditation.What are we looking for?We have tough requirements for these roles and rightly so, you will be responsible for kit that helps provide the essential service to over 14 million people on a daily basis. We are looking for someone with practical and proven hands on experience within Instrumentation (ideally with a qualification to match) and a sound understanding of Health & Safety policies. You will have experience of multiple PLC control systems including Allen Bradley, Siemens, Gem 80s and Mitsubishi and experience of working in Compliant with ISO9002, 14001 & 18001. You will have an ability to quickly troubleshoot and create solutions to problems and issues as they arise. You must have good interpersonal skills, be an effective communicator, numerate and literate and willing to train and develop personal skill base. SCADA bases knowledge would be an advantage including Wonderware and RS View. Above all you must have a strong link and appreciation of your customer needs both internally and externally in every job and every action you take.Thames Water information and salary detailsThis role will cover various sites around the Thames Valley.
