Salary:              £23,188 - £34,894 pa, plus essential car allowance

We are working together to provide a shared service and single officer structure across our two authorities, which makes for an exciting and varied working environment in a beautiful part of Suffolk. Exciting opportunities have recently become available which we require experienced surveyors with drive and determination to join our dedicated Building Control team

The Senior Building Control Surveyor will assist with marketing the service and negotiating on securing projects and promote the diversification of the Building Control section to achieve additional income streams. We are looking for someone with a construction related qualification with a breadth of previous building control experience and be a full corporate member of the RICS or ABE.

The Building Control Surveyor will be expected to advise, negotiate and instruct builders, developers, property owners, agents and the general public to enable compliance with the Building Regulations by telephone in person in the office or on site.  We are looking for a hard working and confident individual with experience and knowledge of the Building Regulations, preferable within a Local Authority or significant experience within the construction industry.

Both post holders will have strong customer service focus with a flexible and self motivated approach.  Experience of undertaking energy assessments (SAP) would be an advantage, however training will be available. Good communication and influencing skills with the ability to deal effectively with people, sometimes in difficult circumstances are essential.

Site visits are required in a large rural area and so the suitable candidates will need to hold a driving licence and have a car. In return we are able to offer a competitive salary, generous flexible working arrangements as well as performance related pay rewards for those who excel.
