Monday to Friday 08.00hrs to 16.00hrs.

The Maintenance Technician Role:

The Scunthorpe site's core business is the supply of injection moulded components and assemblies to a varied customer base including Jaguar, Land Rover and Toyota.

We are now recruiting for a Maintenance Technician to work at the Scunthorpe site. The role operates Monday to Friday 08.00hrs to 16.00hrs and any candidate must be prepared for weekend working and Bank Holiday working.

The role primarily is to work as part of the team responding to the demands of the site in terms of the general, routine and unplanned maintenance of plant, equipment and facilities. Ensuring that all areas meet the standards required to operate in line with health and safety hygiene and environmental policies and procedures.

Reporting to the Plant engineer you will respond to the demands of EPP (Expanded Poly Prop) in terms of the general, routine and planned maintenance of the machinery, plant and facilities. To work with the team to ensure that all equipment is serviced and available for production. Ensuring and that all areas meet the standards required to operate in line with health and safety hygiene and environmental policies and procedures. This will be a mechanically biased role but electrical experience is desirable although not critical to the role.

Maintenance Technician Principle Accountabilities:

> Assisting with all plant and equipment installations

> Working closely with production in EPP to ensure maintenance deadlines are met

> Service and maintain EPP plant services

> Assist with production breakdowns when the need arises

> Working as part of the TPM team to ensure all demands are met and service schedules are adhered to.

> Liaise with engineering stores to assist with the ordering of parts when required

> Work to become trained up to support EPP tool setters and the process department

Maintenance Technician Preferred Education & Experiences to fulfil role (essential & desirable):

> City & Guilds 214 Mechanical Engineering / ONC/HNC mechanical engineering or equivalent

> NVQ 3 Mechanical or equivalent

> 17th edition IEE and electrical knowledge desirable

> Apprenticeship or Time-served.

Experience:

> Hydraulic, pneumatic knowledge essential.

> Knowledge of EPP plant desirable but not essential.

> Mechanically biased

> Computer Literate

> Understanding of Health and Safety Procedures and legislation, QS9000 & ISO 14001

> A working knowledge and understanding of COSHH

> A knowledge of general plant services such as process pumps, chillers, compressors desirable

Aptitudes:

> Computer Literate

> Self motivated

> Ability to work as part of a team and under own initiative

> Ability to find faults and problem solve

> Good communication skills essential

You may have worked in the following capacities: Multi-Skilled Engineer, Electro / Mechanical Maintenance Technician, Plant Engineer.
