Role: Production Supervisor - Kitchen
Location: Pontefract, WF8 1NJ
Salary: Competitive
Work hours: Mon - 05:00 - 14:30 ; Tues - Thur: 05:30 - 14:30 and Fri: 06:15 - 14:30.
A total of 40 hours per week but, flexibility to work outside of these hours is essential as this role may involve some weekend work.
In this role your responsibilities will include (but are not limited too):
* Ensuring all department performance targets (KPI's) are achieved to a high standard within the agreed timescales.
* Motivating employees and setting a good example for department employees to follow.
* Delivering effective 2 way communication, driving continuous improvement and championing employee engagement through Team Talks and other mechanisms.
* Monitoring and managing employee performance effectively, ensuring Specifications and Procedures are followed at all times.
* Completing annual appraisals in accordance with schedule on direct reports.
* Managing disciplinary and grievance investigations with support from the HR department.
* Ensuring effective staffing levels are maintained throughout shift, with particular regard to start & finish times and break times ensuring consistency throughout.
* Liaising with Shift Supervisors in the other areas of Operations to ensure the smooth running throughout.
* Maintaining and promoting good levels of housekeeping, personal hygiene and cleanliness within the department
You will know this is the right role for you because, your qualification, skills and experience will include:
* Some previous experience in Food Manufacturing (essential)
* A Food Technology related qualification (desirable)
* Previous experience in a Team Leader / Supervisor role would also be an advantage, although training will be provided
* Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills - both written and verbal
* Ability to work under pressure whilst meeting deadlines and achieving targets
* Willing and able to undertake new duties and contribute to continuous improvement
