Salary: £17,292.03 - £19,332.18 per annum

Our client is currently the largest national provider of Offender Learning in the UK; their highly qualified employees are fully trained in security arrangements in order for them to deliver a responsive curriculum within prisons across England 52 weeks a year.

With this in mind, they are currently recruiting for a full time (working 37 hours per week) Learning Support Practitioner to work at HMYOI Werrington.

The purpose of this role is to deliver high quality learner focused support in literacy, numeracy and language to promote progression and independent learning. You will assist the Tutor/Trainer with managing the behaviour of individual learners by providing an engaging and inclusive learning experience and help with the development of lesson plans to ensure all learners maximise their ability and fulfill their potential.

Ideal candidates will be non-judgmental, patient, flexible, and have the ability to effectively communicate and motivate learners from a variety of backgrounds to engage in education. Their mission is to ‘improve lives and economic success through learning and skills.’

Applicants must hold a level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy or be willing to work towards this qualification within an agreed timescale, have a track record of working effectively with people presenting challenging behaviour and have an understanding of how people learn and methods that can be used to enhance their learning experience. Applicants must also hold or be willing to work towards a level 2 or 3 qualification for Learning Support Practitioners within an agreed timescale.
