We are a leading employee benefits provider and are looking to recruit a field based National Sales Manager to focus solely on new business generation. We are a dynamic and fast growing company with a strong track record in this market, and are currently launching a new range of voluntary and salary sacrifice products. This is an excellent opportunity to lead the new business drive at what is a very exciting time for the company.   

Our success to date has been based on tenacity and provision of exceptionally high service levels. Northern applicants are encouraged but would be required to attend the Basingstoke office weekly. 

  National Sales Manager Responsibilities:

  The position is responsible for proactive selling in the employee benefits market to grow the current client base, and will involve prospecting through telemarketing and cold calling to senior HR and Benefits personnel to qualify and secure appointments to sell a range of employee benefit solutions to generate new business.  

National Sales Manager Key Responsibilities include:

  > Generating appointments through researching organisations to target, identifying potential leads and developing prospects

> Attending client meetings to present the product proposition to secure new business 

> Engaging fully with prospective clients from the outset to provide creative solutions to meet and exceed their requirements and expectations

> Delivering detailed handover with the account management team for new business secured to ensure all client requirements are reflected in the scheme implementation and ongoing scheme management 

> Maintaining timely and accurate records of all sales activities within the Salesforce client database 

National Sales Manager Required Skills:

  The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, proactive, organised and confident self-starter, comfortable with making circa 100 consultative new business sales calls per week to generate at least 5 new business meetings per week.

The incumbent will promote a positive sales culture and will be able to work under own steam to create and maintain professional relationships to ultimately be converted into confirmed new business. 

The National Sales Manager will have a strong track record in generating leads by phone, securing qualified client appointments, presenting to clients in meetings, and converting prospects through a consultative telephone and face to face sale to secure confirmed new business in a competitive environment.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate empathy with HR and Reward and Benefits personnel, up to director level, in a consultative sales environment, during meetings of up to 1 hour in length.

Product training will be provided but good writing skills would be a distinct advantage.
