We are one of the biggest car retailers in the UK and have 5 retail stores which stock up to 3,500 cars at any one time, five state-of-the-art service centres and a super-sized preparation centre. The Preparation Centre is an integral part of our business, responsible for preparing on average 2000 Vehicles per month. A variety of skilled Colleagues are employed within the Preparation Centre who conduct MOT’s, servicing, repair work and valeting to ensure our customers receive a Vehicle of high standard.
The role in a nutshell
A motivated and highly organised individual is sought to effectively manage our Parts team based in Leighton Buzzard. You will be responsible for ensuring that parts are ordered, received, checked-in and stored correctly in accordance with the stock rotation plan. You will use your extensive knowledge in the motor trade industry to continuously improve the running of the parts function.
What you will be doing
You will be responsible for the day to day management of the parts element to the Preparation Centre, working closely with the Preparation Manager. You will effectively manage the team to ensure effective stock control and warehouse management through regularly reviewing key operating controls. You will monitor the adherence to KPI’s and communicate with internal and external stakeholders to develop the department to meet the needs of the Preparation Centre.
You will be analytically minded and be able to decipher data to develop processes and practices to ensure the effective flow of parts to the Preparation Centre, focusing on key trends and frequently used stock. You will also ensure that our Colleagues have a safe environment to work, continually reviewing practices that are in place, and ensuring that the department is in full compliance with current Health and Safety legislation.
What we expect from you
A great fit for this role would be someone who has previous experience in a similar role within the automotive industry. You will be analytically minded with the ability to develop practices and processes as well as having sound people management skills.
Your communication skills will be second to none in order to communicate with internal and external stakeholders to effectively supply the fast-paced, highly functional production site. You will be skilled in influencing, conflict resolution, negotiating and nurturing talent.
You will have meticulous attention to detail, with an overall passion for customer satisfaction and the ability to interact with Colleagues at all levels.
