£18,000 to £22,000 (Dependent on Experience)

The Role

The successful candidate will join a team of developers working both to enhance their industry leading products and develop new projects. They believe that your attitude and ability to complement their team is at least as valuable as your qualifications. The role will include:

- Designing new features;
- Software development (primarily in C++);
- Testing;
- Liaising with customers, sales and support;
- Product documentation writing.

The following skills are essential:

-A keen and enthusiastic attitude with an ability to accept and learn from fair constructive criticism;
- Good personal communication skills and ability to relate technical concepts to a non-technical audience;
- Good problem solving skills;
- Excellent team working skills;
- The drive to learn;
- Provable knowledge of the C++ language;
- Minimum one year's commercial software development experience.

It would also be very advantageous if you possess experience of developing on either Linux or Mac operating systems.

The following skills are desirable:

- Any object orientated programming experience in the following: C, C#, Java, VB.NET, Python, Perl, etc.;
- Development experience with the Qt framework;
- Knowledge of networking technologies (routers, switches and firewalls);
- Knowledge of IT security best practices;
- C++ programming experience;
- Experience or understanding of agile coding methods.
