The role
We have an exciting opportunity at our Newton Aycliffe sales branch and are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager / Supervisor to develop the business by capitalising on every profitable sales opportunity whilst ensuring good customer care working practices are maintained and customers' expectations are exceeded whenever possible. To provide assistance to the Branch Manager, deputise in their absence and to assume a supervisory role with all team members.
Principal Responsibilities
- Works with the Branch Manager to motivate and help lead the team, ensuring ongoing development of self and all staff members.
- Understands procedures and financial data so the branch is focused on continually striving to improve on agreed sales and profit targets.
- Assists the Manager (or deputises in their absence) to run the branch to ensure a high level of customer service is achieved at all times.
- Understands the importance of ISO requirements and ensures all staff adhere to these when operating branch systems.
- Communicates with staff, customers and colleagues in a way that will achieves results whilst at all times maintaining professional relationships.
- Delivers continuous improvement in service to achieve customer satisfaction whilst meeting sales branch set objectives.
- Assists with and where appropriate manages Company, Regional and Branch promotions to ensure all pre-set objectives are achieved.
Required Experience
- Must have previous Management / Supervisor Experience
- Must have experience of working in a busy telephon /customer service environment
- PC literate (Microsoft Excel and Word) ideally to intermediate level
- A background in customer service.
- Experience of working within an industrial or engineering environment.
Ongoing training forms a central element of the role and will be provided by in-company and external providers at our National Distribution Centre in addition to in-branch coaching.
