Job Title: Payroll Administrator
Location: Wetherby
Starting salary £7.50 per hour rising to £8.50 after probationary period
Full Time, 37.5 hours per week (a four day week would also be considered)
Our client has been established for over 30 years and specialises in providing Accountancy and Taxation Services to the licenced trade. The practice has the historical experience of dealing with over 1,000 licenced outlets, including restaurants, cafes and hotels, whether operated as tenancies, leases or freehold premises. Their main areas of operation are mainly in Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the North East regions.
What you’ll need
• Knowledge of SAGE payroll.
• Knowledge of payroll preparation and UK legislation relating to pay.
• Knowledge of PAYE and NIC deduction schemes.
• Understanding of pension entitlements and computations.
• Knowledge and experience in use of computerised payroll systems and the ability to maximise its features and benefits.
About the role
As a Payroll Administrator you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of client payrolls. Other responsibilities will include:
• Processing weekly/monthly client payroll.
• The timely payment of salaries and deductions.
• Producing P45’s and other payroll forms.
• RTI submissions.
• Auto-enrolment processing.
• Year-end declarations and periodic returns.
• Facilitating and monitoring payment to leavers, sick and absence etc.
• Provision of professional advice on pay related matters.
• Attending staff meetings.
About you
You will have a proven level of numeracy skills with the ability to respond positively to payroll enquiries. The ability to work well as part of a team as well as working unsupervised and being able to use your own initiative is also important.
