HGV Mechanic / Truck Mechanic

GlobalForce Resource Ltd are working alongside Diamond International Trucks to recruit between 5-10 HGV Mechanics. Diamond International are a premier retailer of new and used vehicles and trailers as well as used equipment. 

The position would suit trade qualified HGV Mechanics, often known as Truck Mechanics, Lorry Mechanic or Heavy Duty Mechanics with post qualification experience who are looking to progress existing dealership/fleet training.

This position will be based in the Alberta with positions available in Grand Prairie and Lloydminster. A variety of shifts will be available including a 7 days on, 7 days off rota.

Face to face interviews will be held in Manchester in Mid-December with prior screening taking place beforehand.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ensure all Diamond Safety policies & procedures are followed.
• Performing general & preventative maintenance services in a timely fashion
• Interpreting work orders and technical manuals
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical & electrical failures by visually inspecting, listening to customer input, test driving and using diagnostic tools.
• Completing repairs or replacing defective parts, components or systems as required.
• Notify Service Counter Staff of any additional repairs needed
• Testing and inspecting vehicle to ensure repairs are completed to manufacturers specifications and Government standards
• Document serial number & recording repair history on work order, noting problems encountered during repairs and the resolution.
• Training and/or assisting other technicians or apprentices with their work
• Participate in required training to increase product knowledge and ability to perform repairs.   
• Maintain a clean and organized work site.
• Perform other related or similar duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Qualified Heavy Goods Vehicle Mechanic (HGV Mechanic)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a heavy duty truck dealership setting. 
• High degree of product and technical knowledge
• Strong diagnostics capabilities with good computer skills
• Must be organized & self-motivated with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Motivated team player with a strong sense of commitment to the customer
• Have the ability to deal with large volumes of work and stressful situations
• Excellent time management and problem solving skills
