What would working as a Support Worker involve?

If you work within one of their Supported Living / Registered 24/7 Care - Rota'd either as part of a team or on a one to one basis typically 7 hour shifts - early, late, sleep ins or waking nights - Full drivers license an advantage but not essential in every service (dependent on location).

If you work within their Community Support services – you will be working on a one to one basis visiting a number of people, typically 1 to 2 hours with each person but this varies dependant on the needs of the person supported - car owners with business insurance is essential.

Providing person centred active support to adults with learning disabilities, autism, dementia, anxiety or sensory needs.

Some services require hoisting and pushing of wheelchairs and varying degree of supporting individuals with personal care.

Supporting people to develop life skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, finances, accessing education or work opportunities, support to medical appointments, trips to the cinema, theatre, day trips, bingo, sports.
