The Role:
The Market Intelligence Specialist will provide analysis of various sources of internal and externally available Data Centre market data to the Senior Management Team (SMT), establishing trends and reporting this valuable intelligence into the Product team and SMT. The Market Intelligence Specialist will work closely with Business Development, providing the insights that will allow for future strategy to be formed. The role will create and maintain monthly reporting formats to keep managers within the line of business appraised of the market data, aiding in decision making.

Core Tasks:

  • Define requirements, build, develop, and deliver Market Intelligence to the Data Centre Services (DCS) Senior Management Team, providing the required narrative to highlight the key findings of the research and a holistic external view of the market to support justification
  • Source and analyse significant amounts of data, relay this to the wider commercial team, enabling early identification of market place opportunities
  • Monitor and report on the competitive and legislative environment. Keep track of changes externally generating the relevant internal reporting and action; understand the movement and trends of our competitors business and report on any potential risks
  • Prepare and present reports of findings, illustrating data graphically and translating complex findings into reports, use strong quantitative and analytic abilities, ensure that reports are aimed at the appropriate audience. The reports should also include key narrative to ensure the reader can interpret the findings correctly
  • Assist in the presentation of informed recommendations to senior management, on potential business development opportunities, in order to support platform growth across the market
  • Contribute to the development of new Data Centre strategies. Partner with business development staff to supply market intelligence, propose ideas and constructively challenge strategies
  • Work with peers in the Product team, contributing to the provision of a complete Data Centre product offering

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Data Centre industry in Europe
  • Proven experience of Market Intelligence and strategic business planning
  • Exposure to large, multinational Matrix based corporate organisation
  • Delivery of a similar role within the technology sector with proven complex analytical ability
  • Demonstrable attention to detail and right first time approach
  • Stakeholder engagement and influencing upwards
  • Demonstrate commercial acumen and report writing skills
  • A strong presenter and communicator, strong PowerPoint skills
  • Degree or Masters in a related subject
