EBD Teaching Assistant

A dynamic and experienced EBD teaching assistant is required to work in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Wandsworth on a long term contract to start in January 2015.

This organisation caters for pupils who have been permanently excluded from mainstream school and have a statement of Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This school is academic but also offers students to work within the local community and assist parents with dealing with behavioural issues.

Due to students presenting challenging behaviour this role requires a strong role model who is able to deal with demanding behaviour. Your main responsibilities will be to ensure that students are attending lessons, assist with and work set and work on a 1:1 or group basis. A calming but firm personality is required to form positive relationships with students.

* You must have the legal right to work in the UK
* You must hold QTS or a UK recognised equivalent teaching qualification
* This position is subject to an Enhanced CRB Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
