Our client is a growing national charity that provides a range of flexible individualised care and support services for people with learning disabilities, mental health support needs and older people. The majority of their income is through contracts with statutory bodies.
They require an experienced Bid Writer to help us achieve their goals and provide expert support to the business development function.
Working direct to the Director of Operational Services the role will focus on the identification, preparation and submission of bids and tenders for Local Authority and Health Authority contracts. This will include all stages of the process from initial expression of interest through to Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQ’s); Framework Agreements and full tenders. The position will also prepare bids for grants and trust applications.

This is a permanent” stand alone” position based at home (or at one their office locations if preferred).

Essential requirements
• Understanding of the social care sector
• Awareness of the role of the Care Quality Commission and social care policy frameworks
• A good working knowledge of using the Internet and online facilities for research and document submission
• Experience of writing high standard written material involved with complex and detailed submissions
• Experience of working on several varied tasks, some with tight deadlines, and being able to utilise time and project management skills
• Experience of analysing tender specifications and completion of local authority tender documents
• A high level of written skills covering complex and detailed submissions
• Project management skills including analysis of complex documents and tenders
• Excellent verbal and communication skills
• A working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• A flexible and adaptable approach
• Ability to relate to a wide range of individuals including people who use services, commissioners and staff
• Able to undertake occasional overnight stays away from home
