Fugro Engineering Services is a world leading site investigation contractor that provides a high quality comprehensive service to meet the technical and commercial needs of our clients. In support of our continued growth, we are looking for: a Trainee Laboratory and Site Technician to carry out soils and rock testing as part of our team in Consett and at any of our site locations, in the UK and overseas.

Previous experience of working in a laboratory would be an advantage but is not essential; full training will be provided as appropriate.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Laboratory or site testing of soil and rock
  • Calculation and reporting of test results
  • Withdrawal of samples from the store and return on completion of testing
  • Maintaining the Laboratory and Stores in a clean and tidy condition
  • Performing calibrations or checks of test equipment
  • Site monitoring and sampling
  • Performing Laboratory tests and assisting engineers on an over water drilling vessel

Qualifications required:

  • Minimum 5 good GCSE's (or equivalent) including Mathematics, English and Science

Skills / experience required to do the job:

  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office and use of databases.
  • No experience required at entry level
