Programme Architect

Based at our Head Office in Swindon

To ensure that our systems and business processes are migrated to the target state in a robust manner, it is important to accurately define our solution architecture and assure the integrity of the solution throughout its lifecycle.

You'll be an experienced IT or Business Architecture professional with exceptional leadership, influencing, communication, line management and organisational skills.

As a Subject Matter Expert in Solution Architecture you'll have a strong track-record of leading the architecture activities within large-scale, complex business change programmes. You'll also have a proven record of delivery - you will go the extra mile to ensure that all programme deliverables are delivered to time, cost and quality.

You'll be comfortable shaping Business and IT Strategy and managing its delivery through the transformation portfolio. You will be able to successfully balance the delivery of strategic capability against the delivery realities of the programme.

As a proven leader of solution architects, you will have the experience of providing effective line management and direction to multiple individuals. You'll be respected as a highly-credible architect who has the drive to improve the capability of your department and colleagues and to act as a role model for the rest of the Solution Architect Community in your particular specialisms.

You will be experienced in working with System Integrators and managing the delivery of architecture solutions via them.

Additionally we're looking for:

-Evidence of leading Solution Architecture on projects and programmes with significant budgets and large team sizes (e.g. GBP15M+ budget, circa 50 programme staff and a design team of over 10)

-Exceptional leadership, influencing, communication, line management and organisational skills with the ability to operate effectively at the senior executive level

-Evidence of architecture excellence

-The drive to challenge existing thinking and deliver continuous process improvement

-Experience of working with Systems Integrators to deliver strategic programmes

Other beneficial skills & experience include:

-Experience of solution architecture across n-tier systems that has incorporated a multi-channel capability. Ideally supported by BPM and SOA solutions that orchestrate calls to a variety of legacy platforms

-Experience of outsourcing and/or target operating model optimisation

-Experience with SAP

-Experience of successfully implementing formal architecture method (e.g. TOGAF, Zachmann) within a Solution Architecture function.

As a Programme Architect within the society, you will be a member of the Senior Management team within the Solution Architecture team with responsibilities for growing the capability of the department and consolidating and growing its strong reputation within the company.

You will lead the solution architecture deliverables on strategic multi-million pound transformation programmes.

You'll be accountable for:

- Defining all of the Solution Architecture for business transformation programmes

- Leading all Solution Architecture aspects of business transformation programmes

- Assuring E2E integrity of solutions via the successful execution of relevant design authorities - which you will chair

- Successfully managing executive level stakeholders and growing them into personal advocates

- Successfully line managing a number of solution architects; acting as a role model and establishing a culture of continuous improvement.

- The successful delivery of multi million pounds programmes

- The delivery to our strategic architecture (IT and Business) roadmap
